The Chicago Cake Smash Experience
Every birthday is a special milestone—a chance to cherish another year together and celebrate your time as a family. The best part? You don’t need to worry about a thing! I provide all the props, backdrops, and cake for the session. All you need to do is dress your child in a cute, coordinating outfit, and we’re all set! Plus, for children 2 and under, the session ends with a fun mini splash session for easy clean-up and extra smiles!

Planning ahead for your cake smash session ensures that everything will be perfect for your little one's big celebration. By scheduling in advance, we can make sure all the details are just right, from the decorations to the cake.
To get started, we offer a complimentary 15-minute phone consultation. This allows us to determine availability, discuss your vision, and ensure that we are the perfect fit for each other.

1. Say Hello
After our phone consultation, I will send you an email summarizing all the information we've discussed. If you'd like to proceed, simply text or email me to begin the process. A non-refundable retainer and a signed contract will finalize your booking.
2. Schedule it
Now, here comes the fun part! When booking 4 weeks or more ahead of time, it gives us the opportunity to really dive into the endless possibilities of what you want your child's cake smash session to look like.
Is your vision for their cake smash an elaborate one or do you prefer neutrals and a balloon garland instead? How about combining two ideas into one? No problem! We explore all the options to really make this session something that is special for you. Once we have the theme or color scheme, the baker I partnered with will make a cake that goes perfectly with the cake smash!
3. Planning it
Now that the planning is over, the session will be here before you know it! Hopefully your child gets smashing and really enjoys getting their hands dirty during their session leaving just a sliver of a slice so you can enjoy the cake too!
During the session itself, we will start with family portraits and then move on to the cake smash portion. The best way to end it is with a mini splash session where they get to splash all the cake away! I get to capture some great portraits and you get a clean child-it's a win win overall!
4. Your Session
Approximately two weeks after your session, you'll come back into the studio for your viewing and ordering session. There you'll get to see all your images beautifully retouched and ready to be purchased.
5. Your Photographs
From first steps to first cake-let’s capture the joy of this once-in-a-lifetime milestone!
