At ANE Photography, I make the newborn experience as simple as 1, 2, 3! All you need to do is decide you want a newborn session, and I’ll take care of everything else. I provide all the wraps, outfits, and props to create the session you’ve always dreamed of. Rest assured that your baby’s safety is my top priority, and your little one will be in good hands while you relax in my cozy in-home studio.

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled during pregnancy. This allows us to plan and discuss the color schemes or themes you want to incorporate into your session, ensuring every detail is perfect. However, if baby is already here, no worries! As long as you can bring your baby in before they are three weeks old, we can still capture those precious moments, including their adorable chunky cheeks and tiny toes.

1. Say Hello
Once you decide to book, we will set a tentative date around your due date. After your baby is born and you've shared the news with friends and family, I'm usually next on the list to be notified. From there, we'll set an actual date and time and patiently wait for that day to arrive.
The best time to schedule your newborn session is between 7-14 days old. This is because, after three weeks, some babies start developing baby acne and have longer awake periods.
While it’s possible to photograph older babies, the expectations for what can be done may differ.
2. Schedule it
Apart from the session itself, this is probably my second favorite. This is where I incorporate special themes or color schemes that go well with your home decor. The more time I have, the more customizable your session can be. Want to include a family heirloom? Sure, no problem! Just send me a picture so I can visualize in what setup to include it in. Have inspo pictures? Please include that in your questionnaire so I can try my best to have those ready when you come.
3. Planning it
Yay! Your session date is here! You can expect to be in the studio for at least 2.5 hours. But don’t worry about the time because every newborn session is baby-led, which means we’ll follow your baby’s cues. If your little one needs to feed, be cuddled, or take a break (as many do during their first days), we’ll pause the session to make sure they’re comfortable and happy.
While I focus on capturing those precious moments, you get to sit back, relax, and enjoy the experience.
So now, how does 2.5 hours sound? Fantastic right?!?!
4. Your Session
Approximately two weeks after your session, you'll come back into the studio for your viewing and ordering session. There you'll get to see all your images beautifully retouched and ready to be purchased.
5. Your Photographs
You’ve waited so long for this moment-let’s turn it into something you’ll treasure forever.

I just want to say Carmen is super personable and very talented at her craft. You can tell that she is passionate about photography by how patient and attentive to detail she is. My newborn was very fussy during the photoshoot and Carmen was very understanding and even helped me soothe my newborn. There are not enough words to describe how amazing each and every photo that Carmen took is. She has a magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting, and of course expressions.
