I will document your baby’s first days with intention and simple elegance, all in a calm studio space where you can relax, knowing your baby is in the best hands.
Rest, mama. This part is mine.
enjoying the little moments in life
Baby Violet was a trooper during her newborn session. She slept through the whole thing and never made a peep. I was able to get many sets done while she enjoyed being swaddled in a warm Chicago studio.
Sleepiest baby girl
This baby was a dream...literally, all he did was sleep, which made my job a lot easier.
Custom set for a little star
Baby Angelo

Even if you forget, one photograph can bring back memories of moments that happened long after they have been forgotten. You’ve been dreaming of this moment, and now that they’re finally here, it’s time to slow down and soak it all in. My newborn sessions in my Chicago studio are calm, cozy, and completely baby-led. That means we move at your little one’s pace, keeping things relaxed and natural every step of the way.
Everything you need is already here: props, wraps, outfits, headbands, and tiny hats. All you have to bring are the baby's essentials and yourselves. I’ve got the rest covered.
Whether we’re capturing those tiny fingers or the way they curl into your chest, every part of this session is about the connection between you, your baby, and this brand new love you’re learning to hold. Parents and siblings are always welcome to be part of the story.
Let's create something you’ll hold onto when their newborn days feel like a blur. Let’s make it something beautiful.
The journey begins with a simple hello. Most families reach out during the second trimester to secure their spot on my calendar. Since newborn portraits are best captured when baby is between 7–14 days old, reserving early ensures we’ll have the perfect window to document those first sweet days.
Getting started with ANE Photography is simple: fill out the contact form below, and I’ll connect with you by email to share availability, walk you through investment options, answer any questions, and ensure I’m the right Chicago newborn photographer for your family.
1. Let's chat
Once you’ve viewed the investment guide and decided to proceed, the next step is to reserve your date with a retainer and signed contract. We’ll begin with a tentative booking around your due date, and once your baby arrives, you’ll notify me so we can schedule the actual session within the ideal 7–14 day window.
Newborn portraits are best in those first weeks, but older babies can still be photographed with adjusted posing and styling.
2. let's book it
The planning stage is where we design a session that feels intentional and unique to your family. We’ll discuss color palettes, textures, and any themes you’d like to incorporate, as well as which family members you’d like included. Every detail from wraps and props to poses and styling is thoughtfully chosen to highlight your baby’s earliest days.
With years of expertise and training in newborn safety, you can feel confident knowing your little one will be cared for throughout the process.
3. let's plan it
The day of your newborn session is finally here! It's a time to slow down and simply enjoy these first days with your baby. Sessions typically last about 2–3 hours and are completely baby-led. If your little one needs to feed, cuddle, or take a break, we’ll pause and follow their natural rhythm to ensure they are comfortable and content.
While I focus on capturing every tiny detail from sweet sleepy poses to family connections, you’ll be able to sit back, relax, and soak in the experience, knowing that everything is taken care of.
4. let's have fun!
Approximately two weeks later, you’ll return for your personal viewing and ordering appointment. This is the moment you’ll see your gallery of beautifully retouched portraits for the very first time. Together, we’ll select your favorites and transform them into heirloom artwork-albums, wall art, or fine prints that preserve your newborn’s earliest days with timeless elegance.
5. let's choose your favorites

I was lucky to find Carmen with ANE Photography on IG, and am so glad I did! Based out of the West Suburbs of Chicago, Carmen hosts a cozy home studio with plenty of options for both maternity and newborn photo sessions.
For the maternity shoot, she offered high-end dresses, silks, accessories, jewelry and props! I was equally impressed with the swaddles, baby clothes, accessories, and props for the newborn session. Perfect option when you don’t want to buy clothes for a photo shoot.
Each session was prepped to progress efficiently through the outfit and background changes.
Carmen followed up both photo shoots with reveal sessions to review the captured photos, in a very timely manner. All were stunning! Look forward to working with her again!

"She was meticulous with posing, gentle and caring as she re-positioned my daughter, and provided direct" instructions to me for posing.
Very professional throughout the whole process. My newborn seemed to be comfortable and smiled many times. The photos turned out better than expected. She never rushed us and made us feel like family. Great customer service, great with her job, best of all great with kids. I saw how much she loves doing what she does. I highly recommend her. Hard to find great service, love for the job, and quality work like this.

"When you love what you do this is the type of service you give."
I was searching for a newborn photoshoot for my little one when I discovered ANE Photography on Facebook. Initially, I was unsure about doing a maternity shoot, but I'm so glad I decided to do it—it was the perfect way to capture my first pregnancy. The photos turned out beautifully and were exactly what I had envisioned.
We also did our newborn photoshoot, and the experience was incredible. Carmen is an amazing photographer—she’s not only incredibly talented, but also wonderfully patient and skilled at capturing meaningful moments. My husband and I especially appreciated all the advice she shared as first-time parents.
We’re looking forward to working with Carmen again in the future!

She guided us through the entire process with such ease and made us feel comfortable every step of the way.
Frequently asked
questions &
answers
Q: How much is a newborn session?
A: Digital packages start at $600. A $250 non-refundable retainer is due at the time of booking. The retainer goes towards your final digital and artwork purchase.
Q: DO YOU OFFER BUNDLES for MATERNITY AND NEWBORN SESSIONS?
A: Yes! Right now I'm offering a special BOGO promotion-book a maternity session and receive a complimentary newborn session with one image included. Spots are limited, so reach out soon to take advantage before it's gone.
Q: Are you experienced with newborn photography?
A: It might sound cliché, but safety is my number one priority. I have had hands-on training with world-renowned newborn photographer Ana Brandt. I will never put a baby in a position that would be unsafe. I always have one hand on the baby and ask for help when needed. If you ever see my work and you're puzzled about how I achieved it, it's most likely a composite: two images photoshopped together.
Q: When should newborn photos be taken?
A: 5–14 days old is the sweet spot since babies are still sleepy and haven't hit the baby acne stage yet. That said, I've photographed babies outside this window, and they've turned out beautifully. The earlier you inquire, the better.
Q: How far in advance should I book?
A. Reach out in your second trimester. We'll set a tentative date around your due date, then confirm once baby arrives and you've had a moment to tell your people. No scrambling, just a plan already in place.
Q: HOW LONG IS THE SESSION?
A: Newborn sessions typically run 2.5-3 hours. We go entirely at your baby's pace-feeding breaks, diaper changes, and soothing time are all built in. There's no rushing here.
Q: WHAT IS PROVIDED DURING THE SESSION?
A: I provide everything-wraps, outfits, props, and accessories are all included. All you need to bring are baby's essentials: diapers, formula, and a pacifier if your little one uses one.
Q: WHAT IF MY BABY IS FUSSY OR CRIES?
A: We take breaks for feeding, soothing, and diaper changes. If a pose isn't working, I move on and come back to it if needed. I have techniques to help calm babies through all of it. I go at your baby's pace, always.
Q: Can my partner and other kids be in the photos?
A: Yes, and I actually encourage it. Every session includes a family portion at the beginning because they're only this small once, and sibling photos are some of the most treasured images families ever order.
Q: WHERE IN CHICAGO IS YOUR NEWBORN STUDIO?
A: My studio is in Lombard but I serve all of Chicago and the western suburbs.
